EL9 Chief Engineer

Bill Rogers is Electra’s Chief Engineer for the EL9 Ultra Short, leading the engineering team in the design and development of Electra’s nine-passenger production aircraft with its groundbreaking electric blown lift technologies. A hands-on engineering leader with a strong background in hybrid-electric power and novel propulsion system design, Bill previously led aircraft development projects at Aurora Flight Sciences, including Chief Engineer roles for aircraft integration on the NASA Electrified Powertrain Flight Demonstrator (EPFD) program and for the Orion UAS. He held earlier engineering leadership roles at AAI Corporation (Textron Unmanned Systems) and Middle River Aircraft Systems (GE Aircraft Engines).

With more than 2900 flight hours as a commercial pilot and flight instructor, Bill applies his operational experience in the design of the EL9 Ultra Short. Bill is an active pilot and enjoys flying his experimental RV-7 for travel, formation, and aerobatic flight.
