Barbara Zadina
Communications Lead
As Communications Lead, Barbara manages media and public relations at Electra, helping to shape the company’s story and share Electra’s passion for decarbonizing aviation with a wide range of audiences.
Barbara has diverse experience directing communications strategies for entrepreneurial tech firms, public affairs initiatives, presidential campaigns, and international development projects. Prior to Electra, she headed Soundbreaking, an independent media company that produced an Emmy-nominated documentary series, and directed communications for USAID and World Bank projects in more than 20 countries.
Earlier in her career, Barbara served as spokesperson and lobbyist for nascent commercial space start-up Orbital Sciences Corporation through the first launch of the Pegasus rocket. She led public and government relations for the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, and was later Chief Marketing Officer for The Adrenaline Group, a custom software development firm whose clients included In-Q-Tel and Network Solutions.
Barbara holds a Master in Public Policy degree from the Harvard Kennedy School, and a BS in Journalism and Russian Studies from Boston University.
